The tickets cost $5 each. They can be purchased starting at 6 p.m. on the day of the final rehearsal. The tickets are general admission and seats are not assigned. The house opens for seating usually at 6:30 p.m. and the play starts at 7 p.m. (Sometimes there is not a rehearsal on Wednesday.) You should call and see if the play is on or ask about the start time. This spring/summer there are following 3 shows: The Madwoman of Chaillot which runs April 27= May 20, The special $5 seat would be on April 26 &26, Wednesday, Thursday. Uncle Vanya June 1-24. It's $.25 ![]() Check out the new downtown Minneapolis Public Library. There are docent led tours to guide your first trip there. I learned so many interesting tidbits about the library that I would not have picked up from just walking around. The free tours are offered three times a day. The library is not open on Sunday or Monday. Your own library card from your local library can be scanned there and you are added to their system. You can take out books, CD's and other materials at the downtown library and then return them to your local library. Cool, huh? Minneapolis Central Library: Tours of Minneapolis Central Library * Minneapolis Central Library The Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library sponsor docent Tours of Central Library. Tours are typically held every day that Central Library is open, but are subject to docent availability, and may be cancelled on occasion. Call 612-630-6000 for the most up-to-date information. There is no formal sign-up and they last about 1 hr. Tours are offered: Tuesday through Friday at 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Tours typically meet at the 1st Floor Welcome Desk. Adult tour groups can schedule tours with Janet Urbanowitz of the Friends of MPL. The new Guthrie is a public building and you can just go there to look, eat and or drink. There are great views of the river. Also, if you want season tickets, ask for the educators discount. A tour of the new Guthrie has been designed with you in mind. Whether you are a longtime friend of the Guthrie or visiting us for the first time, we welcome you! Each tour promises to excite and surprise as you discover the stunning and expanded features of our new, state-of-the-art facility designed by renowned French architect Jean Nouvel. Guthrie Tours Tours are scheduled every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and additional tours are scheduled as available based on the performance schedule and availability of spaces in the Guthrie building. Visit the online calendar for additional tour dates. Ticket prices are $4 for students and seniors and $8 for adults. Tours are approximately 75 minutes in length. If you wish to purchase fewer than 20 tickets, call the Guthrie Box Office at 612.377.2224 or purchase online. It is free. Local Florists choose artwork to interpreted in flowers. The flowers are in all the galleries. It is fun to see what they pick and how it is done in flowers.
